What's wrong with sleeping with your feet facing the Qibla?

Answer: There is a bit of controversy lately about stepping towards the Qiblah. Some say it is permissible in some way. Some say it is completely haram. What is the point? What is the root cause of the doctrine?

We have to keep the tone,

A matter will not be considered haram until there is an irrefutable proof of its being haram. There is no irrefutable proof in the Qur'an-Hadith that walking towards the west is haram. That is why stepping towards the west cannot be called haram. But we must emphasize that the Kaaba is one of the most special signs of Allah. And it is obligatory upon all people to show utmost respect to the signs of Allah Ta'ala.

 Allah Ta'ala says:

 ـ

It is audible that if one shows respect to the things bearing the name of Allah, then his heart is filled with fear of Allah. [Surah Hajj-32]

Respect is relative; We know that in one place an act is called honor but in another place that act is considered dishonorable. Therefore, in a society where it is considered dishonorable to step towards something, it would certainly not be permissible to step towards the Kaaba position. Even if one steps towards the Kaaba out of disrespect, it will be an act of Kufr.

As stated in the Fatawa in Hindi,

 الفتاوى حديني - ويكر مد الرجلين إلى الكعبة في النوم etc.

 It is makruh to extend one's legs towards the Kaaba. Asleep or awake. {5/319,} It is also narrated.....Al Muhitul Burhani-8/10, Fatwaye Mahmudia-29/174}

If it is unwilling, there is no problem. But if it is intended to show disrespect, there will be fear of losing faith. According to the commentary of the Fuqahayy Kerams, it is makruh to step towards the west in a normal state. This is supported by the following hadith - Imam Jarqani Muwatta Malik's Commentary on Sahih Ibn Khuzaimah and Sahih Ibn Habban mentions Marfu in the following hadith-

 "

 Whoever spits towards the Qibla will be raised on the Day of Resurrection in such a way that his spit is between his eyes.

 "

Imam Jarqani narrated another on the authority of Ibn Hibban and Abu Dawood:

 ﻋﻦﺍﻟﺴﺎﺋﺐ ﺑﻦ ﺧﻼﺩ : “ ﺃﻥ ﺭﺟﻼ ﺃﻡ Qoﻣﺎ ﻓﺒﺼﻖ ﺍﻟﻘﺒﻠﺔ , ﻓﻠﻤﺎ ﻓﺍ ﻑﺍ ﺩﻮﻝ ﺍﻟﻠﻠ - ﺻﻠﺍ ﻟﻠﻪ ﻋﻠﻴﻭﺳﻠﻢ - : “ ﻻ ﺎﻳﺼﻠﻲ ﻟﻜﻢ” ﺍﻟﻤﻪﺮﺎﻟﻟﻟﺎ إوﺳﻒ , ﻭﻣﺴﻠﻢ ﻋﻦ ﻳﺤﻴﻰ [ ﺹ : 663 ] ﺍﻟﺘﻤﻴﻤﻲ , ﻋﻦ Maalﻚ به

While leading the prayer, a companion spat in the direction of the Qiblah, when he finished the prayer, he said: He did not lead the prayer with you. In the said hadith it is further narrated that Rasulullah SAW said to him - Surely you have troubled Allah and His Messenger.

Hadith of sleeping with feet facing west

Q: Is it permissible to sleep with your feet facing west or north? My father doesn't let me sleep with my feet like this. According to him, it is an act of sin. I had many arguments with him about this. Hope to get the right answer for you. Answer: Sleeping with the feet towards the west or north is prohibited - this is not confirmed by the hadith. It is haram or makruh or disliked - no such statement has been established through the hadith of the Prophet (PBUH) or through the statements of fikr ulama. So if anyone says that it is a sin, then he is wrong. East and West are all created by Allah Rabbul Alamin and the servant of Allah can sleep with his feet in any direction. It is permissible. Since we are told to pray facing the Qibla; Allah Rabbul Alamin said in the Holy Qur'an, 'Turn your faces towards Masjid al-Haram.' That we are commanded to turn to the Qiblah is to honor the Qiblah. In no way is it permissible for the people of Imanda to dishonor the Qibla through any behavior. Actions that dishonor the Qibla are haram, not permissible. For example: spitting towards the Qiblah, this was forbidden by the Prophet (PBUH). Through this there is dishonor. But stepping is not dishonourable. Because, to sleep, you have to step somewhere. If necessary, you can step in any direction. It has nothing to do with dishonoring Kebla. So if anyone thinks this is disrespectful to Kabbalah, they really got it wrong. It is not pure, he needs to be corrected.
